Dust, fees, and the last line on the worksheet
How we treat leftover dust and network fees so rebalance worksheets stay honest for offline reserves.
Rebalance worksheets look tidy until the last satoshis and leftover tokens refuse to move cleanly. Ignoring them makes the next offline wallet tracker disagree with reality.
Our desk convention
- List dust on its own indented line rather than forcing it into a target band
- Estimate fees in a dedicated column; adjust move sizes downward when fees are material
- Mark “leave until consolidate” when gathering dust would cost more attention than it is worth
Honesty over neat percentages
Self-custody reserve positions rarely land on round numbers. A worksheet that admits residue is more useful than one that pretends every wallet hits the target to two decimals.
Bring prior fee notes
If you recorded fees from the last transfer batch, bring those pages. Pattern recognition across visits saves time more than any calculator.
