When a rebalance can wait another month

Not every appointment needs a full move list. Sometimes the offline wallet tracker shows every line still inside the bands you wrote last quarter. In those visits we still refresh the page, then leave the rebalance worksheet nearly blank except for a dated “no action” note.

Signals to wait

• Drift under your agreed tolerance (for many clients, a few percentage points)
• Pending receives that will change the picture within days
• A device you cannot unlock this week without rushing

Signals not to wait

• A handoff from a custodian that landed unevenly across wallets
• Retired devices still holding meaningful balances
• Target bands you deliberately changed after a family decision

Paper as the decision record

If you skip moves, write that down. Future-you should see that the skip was intentional, not forgotten. That single line is often worth the desk fee alone.
